- The first phase of SHR was opened on 2nd March 1899, with the 'Lower School'
- The 'Chapel School' was then opened on 25th March 1903
- The first baptisms were held on 24th March 1901
- The first marriage took place on 9th October 1905
- The first minister was Rev J. Scholefield Morris (1902 - 1905)
